Confusion And Daze
It wasn't long before Emma realized how serious the situation was. There was an overwhelming embarrassment, and she just wanted to disappear.
Mocking laughter reverberated around the building as all eyes focused on her. Was she ever going to be able to move on from this? Her chances of getting even were slim, but she could try.
Where It Began
Emma started the whole thing in her senior year of high school. Even though prom was just around the corner, she didn't expect anything to happen due to her heavy weight.

They Got Her Ready
In the nick of time, Gabby and Jodi got to Emma's house early and got her ready with help from Emma's older sister.
It was 17:45 when the last smear of makeup was applied. Each girl picked a part of the process. All that remained was to wait for the man of the hour, who would arrive within 15 minutes. They thought so, at least.
Time's Up
As 6 p.m. approached, Thomas was nowhere to be found. The girls decided to wait a little longer because they still had 30 minutes to wait before the doors closed.
In her life, Emma had never been more nervous. However, Gabby and Jodi only felt sadness. A reality had just been revealed that was beyond their worst fears.
Stood Up
As the clock ticked down, Jenifer decided she had to act independently. The girl knew what was happening and wouldn't allow a boy to ruin the evening for her sister.
In a flash, she ushered Emma and her best friends into the car and drove off, confusing them. They exchanged anxious glances, but she was unstoppable.
You Can Still Enjoy Yourself
Emma almost choked on her saliva when Jennifer pulled up in front of the hall. While she pleaded for her sister to take her home, Jenifer refused.
Jennifer looked at her pointedly, saying, "You were so excited about this evening. Letting a pretty boy ruin your evening would not do for me. Make sure you have fun when you go in. You deserve it with all the hard work you've put into it."
Shocking Sight
Emma took her sister’s words to heart and got out. She didn’t need a boy to enjoy this evening. She had her best friends, and nothing could top that.
But as soon as the girls walked through that door, Emma’s hopes and dreams crumbled. She saw Thomas with another girl, and that was when she realized that it was just a trap.

The rest of the year was just as bad as that night. Emma was being mocked daily, and that led to a vicious cycle she couldn’t escape.
The more they bullied her, the more it hurt. And the more it hurt, the more she ate. This led to her gaining even more weight, which led to even more bullying. And by the end of it all, Emma was fed up. All she wanted was revenge, but she didn’t know how to get it.

The thought of revenge consumed the young girl. She wanted the prom king and queen to feel what she felt. She wanted them to know what it was like to be mocked on a daily basis.
But mostly, she just wanted all the bullying to come to an end. She felt like life would never get better and that she would be stuck in this trap for all eternity. But vengeance would be hers soon enough.

But things would get worse before they got better. Just as the year was coming to a close, Emma visited her doctor for an annual check-up. And the diagnosis was grim.
The doctor told Emma that her weight gain had gotten out of hand. If she didn’t begin to lose some of it, she would end up with diabetes. And that was when everything changed.

That day, Emma made a conscious decision to change her life. She approached her sister and friends, asking for help with her new journey, and they happily agreed.
That was when everything began to change. They came up with a diet and exercise regime that would whip her into shape in no time. But that was where Emma’s concerns began.

Thomas got up and tried to hug Emma, but just as he did so, a man came up behind her. The handsome stranger wrapped a hand around her waist and kissed her cheek before saying, “Hello darling, have you been waiting long?”
Emma gave him a dazzling smile, and the two of them disappeared into a quiet corner to enjoy a well-earned meal.
