The Do's

Do you wear glasses? Then you probably know how quickly the lenses get dirty. Of course, it seems simple: a quick wipe, and you're done. However, there are some ways to clean your glasses that you should skip.

Moist wipes

You may have used them to clean your glasses: moist eyeglass wipes. You would think they are ideal, but nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, these wipes can quickly damage your glasses. There are wood fibers in the wipes that scratch the lenses.

Kitchen paper

Do you often clean your glasses with kitchen paper or a handkerchief? You'd better stop doing that. These paper towels also contain wood fibers that can damage the glass.

What you should do

So what products can you use to clean your glasses? The best option is a microfiber cloth. You usually also get these when you buy new glasses. They remove dust and stains in no time without damaging your glasses. Grease stains on your glasses can be easily removed with a neutral soap or detergent, then dried with a lens cloth. Be sure to check the material your frame is made of, as some plastic frames can be damaged by soap. In that case, opt for baking soda and water.
