Staring intently at the small boy, the unfamiliar dog let out a deep, threatening growl. Its sharp teeth were on full display, and its jet-black fur bristled along its back, signaling aggression. The air felt tense and charged with danger.

He was a breed that was recently banned from homeowners because of many human attacks. Linda was horrified. She didn't know what to do. She couldn't keep a dog that was capable of attacking humans.

The vet stressed that Max was a breed that wasn’t safe for children because of their propensity for attacking humans. Linda was stunned. She had no idea that Max belonged to such a dangerous breed.
Had she had any idea then she would have reconsidered before adopting the pup. She immediately regretted getting the pup at all, she had too much on her plate.

Linda decided to talk to her husband about it. Peter was hesitant, but he agreed that they had to do something about Max. They couldn't risk keeping him, and they didn't want to put him down either.
They already loved him so much and didn’t want to part. Maybe there was a way to keep him around and see if it would work out.

She knew that she had to keep Max away from other people and animals, but she couldn't bear the thought of giving him up. They loved playing with him and spoiling him already, there was an emotional attachment.

Despite their efforts, word got around about Max's breed. Neighbors started to complain about Max barking. Some said they saw large holes dug in their lawn, they blamed Max.
Eventually, the next-door neighbor called the police. Linda knew that she had to do something to protect Max, but she didn't know what else she could do.

She tried to keep the neighbors at bay by pretending that it was just a friend’s dog that she was taking care of. But after some time, she couldn’t lie anymore.
The neighbors were persistent and asked if her “friend’ was coming anytime soon. Linda was embarrassed and didn’t know why she had to explain herself to her friend.

One day, the worst happened. Linda received a letter from the city council stating that Max was a danger to the community and that he needed to be put down. Linda was devastated.
She couldn't bear the thought of losing Max, but she also couldn't bear the thought of him hurting someone. It was a hard decision to make.

Kyle was heartbroken when he found out about Max's fate. He begged his mother to listen to him. “Linda! Linda! Please, you have to listen to me!”
“I know my boy; we will find a way to save him. to find a way to save him.” The little boy looked up at her with his big brown eyes, his mouth curled up at the sides, “Linda! You’re not listening.” Linda knew that she had to act fast.

Unfortunately, the neighbors were relentless. Linda had to think fast while Kyle was at school. Linda decided to take Max back to the shelter where they got him.
She told Kyle that Max had to go back to the shelter because he needed special care. Kyle was devastated. He cried for days, and Linda felt guilty.

Months went by, and Kyle was still sad. Linda noticed that he wasn't the same happy child anymore. He didn't play as much, and he didn't talk as much.

Linda could see that the family was decent and kept in touch with them but she didn’t think they really loved Max. Maybe she was a little jealous that they had taken him.

Linda was happy to see that Max was fitting in, but she was worried that it wouldn’t last long. She had a bad feeling about something. She knew Max.
It was almost like a sixth sense. Sure enough, Linda received an important phone call. It was Mrs. Smith, something had happened, there was an emergency.

While playing with Tom, Max suddenly turned aggressive and bit the boy's hand. Tom was rushed to the hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries. Luckily, it was just a flesh wound and would leave a tiny scar that would eventually go away.
