The high-profile Harry Potter game Hogwarts Legacy has been delayed to a new release date of February 10th, 2023. That's for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, with a Switch release on a launch date to "be revealed soon." It's the second time the open-world action RPG set in the 1800s of the Harry Potter Wizarding World has been delayed, first from 2021 into 2022, then pinned for a holiday 2022 release, and now a delay into the first quarter of 2023.
The creators need a little more time "to deliver the best gaming experience," they write on Twitter. That was also the reason why Portkey Games postponed the game early last year.

The game has been in development for several years. Players can create their character, which will be assigned to one of the four wizarding schools' houses. The story is set two hundred years before the Potter stories. So, it is highly unlikely that any familiar characters from the books and movies will make an appearance. Instead, players will get a new story, but what that will be exactly is still somewhat unclear.
"Players will experience life as a student at Hogwarts as they embark on a dangerous journey to discover a hidden truth of the wizarding world."
