Restaurants come in all kinds of manners and styles, often providing us with something very specific. We choose a meal on the menu, and we see if it is nice or not. However, pop-up food restaurant Feeladelphia is going down a different route. You make your order based on how you feel as opposed to choosing a direct food product.
If that sounds strange, it’s because it is quite different. The idea is quite simple, though; this pop-up, held in New York City during July of this year, looked to bring an event to the town where you order feelings as opposed to food. Jeremiah STONE AND Fabian Von Hauske Valtierra were the experts involved, so you know the food was going to be good regardless.
For $35 per head, though, it was not cheap by any means. The idea, though, was to use the famous Philadelphia Cream Cheese product – as people claim that it can provide a ‘feeling in every bite. Is that a cheesy marketing slogan? Absolutely. Is it true? Well, according to this pop-up, maybe!
The menu was loaded with cream cheese-infused products and the food you got depended on what you asked for. Satisfaction, for example, provided you with some short rib, some beef tongue, and some brisket – all packed with some cream cheese. By contrast, asking for Warmth would have brought you some fired crispy pastels with some gruyere and some Comte.
Is this going to come back? It sounds like it might have a chance of being more than a pop-up experiment in the future. So successful was the experience that you could see this coming back in the future. If you want to try out some of the meals offered, though, look out for the Feeladelphia book that has been released. Going by the name of Feeladelphia Cookbook: An Immersive Experience, you can create the various feelings-themed foods that you would have during the pop-up event.
So, if you missed out but want to see what this is all about, buy the book and see for yourself!
