It became a daily occurrence since Mike worked from home, and Karin was given the job of looking after Farrow while they worked.

It didn’t help that his own wife didn’t believe it, and she wasn’t there to hear everything that Karin was pestering him about.
He didn’t mind her giving them some advice, but now it was turning into something else, and Karin was forcing him to choose what gender his daughter should be. He held his head in his hands, thinking about what to do about the situation.

Then, an idea flashed in his mind. He knew exactly what he was going to do. Not only would this finally help Pauline see what was going on, but he could also use it in an attempt to make Karin stop what she was doing.
It was the only way he could put a stop to it.
Everything In Place
So the next day, when Karin clocked in to look after Farrow, Mike waited. Karin was bound to make an appearance at his office sometime in the day.
And like clockwork, there was a brief knock on the door, and then in walked Karin. Everything was already in place, Mike just needed to do one more thing.
And Action
As soon as Karin started talking, he pressed record on his phone. He had mounted it at a position on his desk so that Karin couldn’t see it.
He was lucky on this day because Karin’s ramblings just wouldn’t end, and he believed he had captured all the evidence he needed to hand over to Pauline.
More Outlandish
“If Farrow ended up coming out as transgender, wearing pink in her childhood years would have confused her. I think it was time that you and Pauline bought some blue and green outfits for her.”
The words coming out of Karin’s mouth were becoming more outlandish by the day. Mike just smiled. He knew he had her now.

Just when Mike thought the ramblings were over, Karin continued. It seemed like she had a lot to get off of her chest. Mike decided to continue recording the interaction.
Karin then commented that her mother dressed her in pink, which she didn’t like as a child. She claimed to have rather been dressed like a boy because she liked wearing pants.
Confused
Mike bowed his head in confusion but then decided to interject. “But Farrow is only two years old. Why do we have to worry about this at all? We are her parents, and we know what we are doing.”
But Karin was ready for him. She seemed to have an answer for everything at this point. Mike just wished the conversation would be over. He wanted Karin to stop interfering in their lives.

Karin was quick with her responses, and she quickly answered the question Mike had put forward to her.
“How you parent her has everything to do with me because I am her grandmother, and I feel like she should have to have to choose who she wants to be in life, a girl or a boy,” she said.
Exasperated
Mike rolled his eyes. He sighed with exasperation and eventually hit the stop button when Karin exited his office.
He couldn’t believe that he had once again endured a day of constant criticism from his mother-in-law, and now he had the evidence to give to his wife Pauline. Would she finally believe him now?

When Pauline came home from work, Mike was ready for her. He was finally going to prove to her that he was not being crazy and that her mother was pushing some bizarre suggestions onto him.
Mike played the recordings of his conversations with Karin, hoping to convince Pauline of the seriousness of the situation.

Pauline’s eyes grew wide with shock when she heard her mother’s ramblings and the way she was trying to tell Mike how to parent Farrow.
But even then, with all the evidence that was presented to her, Pauline was hesitant to confront her mother. Mike became frustrated with the fact that Pauline wasn’t taking his side again.
Stepping Away
It took much convincing, but soon enough, Pauline was prepared to have a talk with her meddling mother. She eventually came around and saw that her mother's behavior was not acceptable.
She spoke to her and asked her to give them a break. Mike even threatened to post the video he had made to social media if she didn’t stop what she was doing. Karin was then asked to step away from the babysitting job for a while. She wasn’t pleased, but in the end, she accepted defeat.
The Aftermath
Mike felt relieved that he had put a stop to Karin's meddling ways. He knew that it was the right thing to do for his daughter's sake. Pauline was still upset for a while, but she eventually came around and saw that her mother was wrong.
Mike and Pauline hired a nanny who was more than happy to take care of Farrow and let her wear whatever she wanted.

With Karin out of the picture, the Sterner household was much happier. Farrow was free to be herself and wear whatever she wanted without any judgment.
Mike and Pauline were also happier without the constant interference from Karin. They were able to focus on their family and enjoy their time together. Mike was proud of himself for taking a stand and doing what was best for his family.

But just when everything seemed to be going well, Karin showed up at their doorstep unannounced. Mike was surprised to see her, but he remained calm.
