4 Simple Ways to Become a More Eco Minded Individual

It is official – we all now know just how much damage we have contributed to our planet. Waste, pollution, and a complete disregard for ecology have meant that many of us have caused more harm than we would have ever intended. This is why, if you want to change your tune, you should try and include the following lifestyle changes. When used properly, these could help you to become more eco-minded.

Make the most of produce

If you have produce scraps that are lingering around the place, you might often throw them out into the food waste bin. Instead, you could throw all of the scraps into a saucepan and let it get to work. Once it is boiled down, freeze it and use this as your stock. A few cups of produce cuttings can become a nice bit of stock that you could use in soups and other dishes.

Start filling up water bottles

Insulated water bottles are a great way to make sure you can stay hydrated as the day goes on. They also make very useful tools for anyone who is trying to cut down on the amount of waste that they produce on any given day. Instead of buying single-use plastic bottles, start filling up water bottles at home and this could save you a lot of time, space, and money when it comes to managing those old plastic bottles.

Look for clothing swaps

Another source of huge wastage is clothing. If you are the kind of person who just fills up bags of old clothes to throw into recycling or waste, stop. Look for a clothes swap instead. You should be able to use a clothing swap to find yourself all manner of awesome little goodies and swaps. Then, you can convert what you already own into a garment you do want, whilst giving someone else your old clothes – perfect!

Invest in multiple recycling bins

If you have only one recycling bin, get at least one more. You can find it is much easier to recycle either by type or simply by volume. Instead of having a full bin and ‘cheating’ by throwing out something recyclable due to lack of space, having multiple storage points can go a very long way to changing your situation.

Recycling becomes easier, and you have more space without having recyclable debris cluttering up elsewhere.
